Description; Our Shop Foreman will lead a team of technicians to ensure that repairs are performed efficiently, cost effectively, on schedule and to the satisfaction of the customer.
Duties; The Shop Foreman discusses the services to be performed and pricing with Service Advisors, recommends repair and maintenance options, and schedules work to maximize both customer and employee time.
Management; The Shop Foreman recruits, trains and manages qualified individuals, assists them with any job problems and provides technical support as needed. He also must ensure compliance with laws regarding hazardous waste disposal and workplace safety.
Skill; The Shop Foreman should have technical skills equal or superior to that of his team, so he can fill in when a technician calls in sick or if work overflows. The shop foremen should be certified in all eight specialties offered by The National Institute of Automotive Service Excellence.
Training; though a Shop Foreman may have acquired his technical skills in trade school, management training often occurs on the job. The Shop Foreman should have, at least 10 years of experience.
Automotive Shop Foreman Qualifications:
· Requires STRONG Leadership skills.
· Outstanding diagnostic ability.
· High school diploma or equivalent.
· Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information.
· 5+ years of automotive mechanical diagnosis
· One year supervisory experience.
· Working knowledge of Dealership Management computer systems (Reynolds & Reynolds) and applications relevant to Automotive Shop operations.
· Problem-solving and repair experience
· Highly motivated and energetic
· Excellent communication and managerial skills.
· Valid driver's license and good driving record.
· Professional personal appearance

· All applicants must be able to demonstrate ability to pass pre-employment testing to include background checks, MVR, drug test, credit report, and insurable driver license
